Position Overview
As a Substance Abuse Counselor II, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and delivering both general and specialized treatment to individuals facing emotional, psychological, or substance use challenges, including dependencies on tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to support clients in their journey from addiction to recovery by employing effective therapeutic techniques, providing essential educational resources, and facilitating meaningful self-exploration opportunities.

In addition, you may work alongside the program director to offer tailored services to the clinic's clientele, including collaboration with federal probation clients.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • DPH Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LPCA)
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of five years of professional counseling experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemical dependency rehabilitation dynamics and available resources
  • Commitment to developing multicultural competency within a behavioral health context
  • Growth-oriented mindset with a focus on setting and achieving professional goals
  • Exemplary emotional stability, maturity, warmth, and openness
  • Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred
  • Experience working with federal probation clients is advantageous
