Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our team at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. As a Substance Use Counselor, you will work with individuals struggling with addiction and substance use disorders, providing counseling and support to help them achieve recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients with substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address clients' specific needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify clients' needs and progress
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as counseling, psychology, or social work
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
