Job Overview

As an Operations Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing production processes and ensuring optimal performance within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Task Delegation: Assign tasks to team members across various workstations to enhance productivity and meet daily objectives.
  • Training & Guidance: Instruct and mentor employees on equipment operation, work processes, quality control, safety standards, and organizational practices.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Set up, troubleshoot, and implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop and manage schedules for the production team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary daily documentation, including production reports, to maintain accurate records.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols established by the organization.
  • Housekeeping Practices: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following established safety procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake various projects and responsibilities to support the ongoing needs of the business.
Position Scope:
  • Supervise a team of employees, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide clear daily objectives to guide team efforts.
  • Act as a resource for team members, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert within the department.
  • Offer mentoring and training to new hires.
  • Contribute to additional projects as required by business needs.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • Familiarity with production equipment and processes, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with experience in database management.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members, fostering professional relationships.
  • Skilled in interpreting production schedules and technical documents.
  • Competence in performing precise measurements and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Capability to establish positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely, with in-house training and certification required.
  • Understanding of and adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Demonstrated integrity and strong work ethic in all job functions.
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or training capacity.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working at a computer.
  • Ability to walk several miles daily as part of job duties.
  • Engagement in physical activities such as bending and stooping as necessary.
