Position Overview

The role of the West Coast Consultant Sales is pivotal in enhancing the visibility of various Man products within the institutional investment consulting sector. This position emphasizes relationship management with investment consulting firms and other financial intermediaries across the US and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, nurture, and sustain professional relationships with essential investment contacts among institutional investors, including pension funds and insurance companies, as well as financial institutions like banks and platforms.
  • Implement structured management of assigned accounts, which includes prioritizing accounts, conducting research, prospecting through both cold and warm outreach, scheduling meetings, and initiating discussions to uncover strategic and tactical objectives while introducing tailored investment solutions offered by Man Group.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the overall institutional business development strategy and assist in executing the direct sales strategy to meet personal sales targets within set timelines.
  • Deliver effective and professional presentations on the designated product range to investment officers, pension fund managers, trustees, field consultants, independent advisors, and the broader institutional market, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing clear, relevant information.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to conduct final presentations.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Organize and execute entertainment and external events, such as seminars for potential clients, and participate in relevant industry events as per the team's agenda.
  • Keep accurate contact tracking information for all key contacts, ensuring timely and precise documentation of meeting notes.
  • Engage with internal contacts to support sales activities and provide insights on market and prospect knowledge to aid in the development of business strategies.
  • Report all activities to senior management in an agreed format and within established timeframes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in the investment management industry, with 5-8 years specifically in sales within the consultant channel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and a proactive approach.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain effective communication and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory matters, with adherence to all necessary procedures.
  • Successful completion of all qualifications, licenses, tests, and other requirements mandated by regulatory authorities to perform duties on behalf of the Company.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000-$170,000, plus benefits and a discretionary bonus. This range reflects the Company's expectations based on the role's requirements and the applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
