Account Executive West

Medidata Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Executive to join our team in the West region. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for selling our products and services to well-qualified prospects and existing customers.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Sell our products and services to well-qualified prospects and existing customers.
- Acquire new customers and sell additional products or services to existing ones.
- Deploy an effective strategy to connect and build relationships with new and existing contacts.
- Apply in-depth technical knowledge of our products, systems, and services to educate prospects on the Medidata Platform.
- Follow up on Marketing-generated leads.
- Maintain thorough records of correspondence in Salesforce.
- Research pharmaceutical and biotech companies online, follow industry publications, and utilize third-party tools to identify new targets and selling opportunities.
- Identify and nurture opportunities within individual territories.
- Coordinate product demonstrations with Solutions Consultants and with Solution Sales Specialists.
- Work through Medidata MSA and SOW contracts with internal and prospect/customer legal councils.
- Participate in company-sponsored events and marketing campaigns designed to stimulate more brand and product awareness.
- Attain sales targets.
- Manage all aspects of the account to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested.
- Knowledge of computer usage in a web-based environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid analytical and technical skills.
- Exposure to formal sales methodologies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivating, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner.
- Previous Software or complex sales experience.
- Knowledge of Clinical Development industry.
- Salesforce or other CRM experience.
- Location can be remote but West Coast based if possible.
- Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences, Business, or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of previous inside sales and account management experience in a quota-carrying environment.
- Some travel to conferences and/or in-person internal and customer meetings may be required.
The base salary pay range for this position is $60,000-80,000. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata Solutions provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata Solutions' non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
