Job Title: Account Executive West

Medidata Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Executive to join our team in the West region. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for selling our products and services to well-qualified prospects and existing customers.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sell our products and services to well-qualified prospects and existing customers.
  2. Acquire new customers and sell additional products or services to existing ones.
  3. Deploy an effective strategy to connect and build relationships with new and existing contacts.
  4. Apply in-depth technical knowledge of our products, systems, and services to educate prospects on the Medidata Platform.
  5. Follow up on Marketing-generated leads.
  6. Maintain thorough records of correspondence in Salesforce.
  7. Research pharmaceutical and biotech companies online, follow industry publications, and utilize third-party tools to identify new targets and selling opportunities.
  8. Identify and nurture opportunities within individual territories.
  9. Coordinate product demonstrations with Solutions Consultants and with Solution Sales Specialists.
  10. Work through Medidata MSA and SOW contracts with internal and prospect/customer legal councils.
  11. Participate in company-sponsored events and marketing campaigns designed to stimulate more brand and product awareness.
  12. Attain sales targets.
  13. Manage all aspects of the account to ensure customer satisfaction.
  14. Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested.
Your Competencies:
  1. Knowledge of computer usage in a web-based environment.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Solid analytical and technical skills.
  4. Exposure to formal sales methodologies.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  6. Self-motivating, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner.
  7. Previous Software or complex sales experience.
  8. Knowledge of Clinical Development industry.
  9. Salesforce or other CRM experience.
  10. Location can be remote but West Coast based if possible.
Your Education & Experience:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences, Business, or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  2. Requires a minimum of 3 years of previous inside sales and account management experience in a quota-carrying environment.
  3. Some travel to conferences and/or in-person internal and customer meetings may be required.
Salary & Benefits:

The base salary pay range for this position is $60,000-80,000. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata Solutions provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata Solutions' non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
