ROLE OVERVIEW

The Beauty Advisor (BA) plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding experience for all guests at Ulta Beauty. This includes engaging with each guest to assess their unique needs, managing cashier responsibilities, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked, maintaining a clean store environment, and completing assigned tasks. The BA collaborates with the leadership team, focusing on performance metrics (service and retail sales, in-store events), guest satisfaction, and adherence to operational procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The BA embodies Ulta Beauty's mission and values, demonstrating them consistently through the following duties:

Performance Responsibilities

  • Assist in achieving or surpassing store goals related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty, and inventory management.
  • Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, greeting and engaging with them, personalizing their experience, answering inquiries about products and services, and promoting current offers.
  • Handle customer service inquiries, sales transactions, refunds, and exchanges efficiently.
  • Conduct makeup applications, skincare consultations, and product demonstrations to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.
  • Schedule appointments and support the execution of services and in-store events that provide a remarkable guest experience while meeting sales objectives.
  • Stay informed about new and existing products and services to better assist guests.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Team Collaboration

  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports colleagues and guests alike.
  • Promote the benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app to enhance customer engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with management and team members to drive business growth.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the company's dress code.
  • Drive sales by maintaining a well-organized and stocked work area.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Assist in merchandising tasks, inventory management, and shipment processing.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices.
  • Complete additional operational tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.

Skills

  • Passion for customer service and sales.
  • Proficient in basic technology, including Point of Sale systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Continuous mobility throughout the store.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

COMPENSATION

The pay range for this position is $24.50 per hour, with opportunities for additional compensation through the company's bonus plan. Pay will be determined based on various factors, including education, experience, and location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits including paid time off and health coverage.
