ROLE OVERVIEW

The Beauty Advisor (BA) plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding experience for all guests by understanding their unique needs, managing transactions, ensuring merchandise availability, maintaining store cleanliness, and executing assigned tasks. The BA collaborates with the leadership team to focus on performance metrics (service and retail sales, in-store events), guest relations, and adherence to operational standards. A genuine enthusiasm for the beauty sector, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to learn and share product knowledge are essential for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The BA embodies Ulta Beauty's mission and values, demonstrating them consistently through the following responsibilities:

Performance Responsibilities

  • Assist in achieving or surpassing store objectives related to sales, customer loyalty, and inventory management.
  • Ensure each guest enjoys a remarkable service experience by creating a welcoming atmosphere, greeting and engaging customers, personalizing their service, addressing inquiries about products and promotions, and recommending complementary items.
  • Handle customer service inquiries, sales transactions, refunds, and exchanges with professionalism.
  • Conduct makeup applications, skincare assessments, and product demonstrations to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.
  • Schedule appointments and support the execution of services and events that provide an exceptional guest experience while meeting sales targets.
  • Stay informed about new and existing products and services to better assist guests.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Team Collaboration

  • Foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports colleagues and guests alike.
  • Promote the benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app to customers.
  • Work closely with managers and team members to drive business growth.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and sales performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the company's dress code.
  • Drive sales by maintaining a well-stocked and organized work area.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Participate in inventory management and merchandising tasks as directed.
  • Safeguard company assets by following loss prevention protocols.
  • Complete additional operational tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.

Skills

  • Strong passion for customer service and sales.
  • Proficient in basic technology, including Point of Sale systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.
