KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Beauty Advisor (BA) plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding experience for all guests by engaging with each individual to understand their unique needs. Responsibilities include managing cashier duties, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA collaborates with the leadership team to enhance performance (service and retail sales, in-store events), foster relationships (guest service), and adhere to processes (operational procedures and compliance standards). A genuine passion for the beauty sector, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to learn and share product knowledge are essential for this role.

PRIMARY DUTIES

The BA embodies Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them consistently through the following responsibilities:

Performance Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving or surpassing store goals related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty, omni-channel sales, and minimizing retail shrink.
• Ensure every guest receives outstanding service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting and engaging each customer, personalizing service to their needs, addressing inquiries about products and services, informing guests about promotions, and recommending complementary Ulta Beauty offerings.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
• Conduct makeup applications, skincare assessments, and product demonstrations to enhance sales and customer experience.
• Schedule appointments and support the execution of services and in-store events that provide an exceptional guest experience while meeting sales objectives.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services during work hours, gaining knowledge about their ingredients and benefits to better assist guests.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Team Collaboration

• Foster an inclusive environment that supports colleagues and both internal and external guests.
• Promote the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests on the sales floor.
• Work collaboratively with managers and team members to drive business growth.
• Engage in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to facilitate continuous professional development and enhance sales performance.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure knowledge of and compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to the company's dress code.
• Drive sales by maintaining assigned work areas stocked, organized, and visually appealing, ensuring testers are available.
• Uphold exceptional store standards and cleanliness across all areas, including sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break areas.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and processing shipments using Ulta Beauty's technology and best practices.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention protocols while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Execute additional operational tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 1 year of relevant work experience or a combination of education and relevant experience preferred.

Skills

• Demonstrates a passion for customer service and proficiency in sales.
• Comfortable with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale systems and Apple devices).
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Capable of troubleshooting effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
• Continuous lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. during shifts.
• Ongoing coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

The pay range for this position is $24.50 per hour, with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation through the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs.
