Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Middleware Quality Assurance Engineer at IBM, your technical expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the excellence of the software we develop. You will be integral in enhancing each iteration within an agile environment. Your responsibilities may include:
  • Developing automated testing solutions utilizing tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, and Cucumber.
  • Creating test data and establishing test environments.
  • Writing and executing test scripts under the guidance of senior testers and leads, identifying errors, and validating successful outcomes for software solutions.
  • Documenting and analyzing programming errors and operational characteristics that deviate from the specified requirements and design goals.
  • Conducting thorough analyses and presenting test results to clients and project teams in a clear manner.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience in testing applications and systems, particularly focusing on executing test cases for applications developed using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services, and Middleware integration concepts.
  • Ability to develop test scenarios and cases, executing them to verify that systems are built according to requirements, with a focus on both functional and non-functional testing at the component integration layers.
  • Familiarity with invoking application interfaces using integration protocols such as Web Services, MQ, JMS, and RMI, either manually or through tools.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience in designing, creating, and executing functional and/or non-functional test cases; proficiency with tools like Confluence, JIRA, Selenium, and Performance Testing Tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of data quality analysis and testing skills in API, ETL, and SQL.
