Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team at E & E Manufacturing Inc. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and directing activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards, customer satisfaction, and operating systems compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of GD&T with the ability to interpret dimensional layouts and evaluate production parts, samples, and prototypes as required by the quality system
  • Experience with AIAG core tools, PPAP, APQP, MSA & SPC, FMEA
  • Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving; ability to obtain and use data to drive solutions
  • Experience working through customer VDA audits
  • Strong corrective action skills, able to lead a cross-functional team and follow the issue to closure using 8D problem-solving tools such as; 5Y, Ishikawa, Kepner-Tregoe, etc
  • Knowledge of all the Quality tools (DOE, SPC, Pareto Charts, Cause & Effect Analysis, Minitab, etc) and the deployment of these tools in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for investigating internal concerns along with external customer concerns, implementing corrective action and validating the root cause as needed
  • Proactively investigate ways to improve the process to reduce waste, scrap, and customer concerns
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility
  • Maintain an 8D log and continuous improvement system to resolve customer issues and prevent recurrence
  • Travel to Customers and Suppliers when required for problem-solving and containment activities
  • Provide feedback on dimensional concerns to tool room, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of measurement instruments on the production floor
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
  • Implement and Audit IATF policies and procedures
  • Working safely as a condition of employment
  • Metal stamping and/or weld assembly exposure
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job
  • Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area
  • Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives
  • Consistently adhere to and support company policies and procedures, including ISO14001, IATF16949, and safety regulations
  • Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Actively support the E & E values

Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from a four-year college or university, required
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Quality function in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in a fast-paced automotive (OEM/Supplier) environment, preferred
  • Experience working through the IATF certification and audit process, preferred

  • Computer skills: Experience with basic computer systems and Plex
  • Communication skills: Strong Communication skills; written and verbal
  • Mathematical skills: Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra
  • Other Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties
