Position Overview - Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist

As an Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Underwriting team by managing assigned accounts effectively. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of renewal and prospective accounts, ensuring thorough oversight from submission to expiration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct preliminary evaluations of risk and verify the completeness of underwriting documentation prior to underwriter review.
  2. Engage directly with Brokers to gather essential account and insured information necessary for comprehensive risk analysis.
  3. Utilize your knowledge of specific product underwriting guidelines to support pre-analysis of submissions, preparing them for further evaluation during the quoting phase.
  4. Assist in developing initial pricing structures, basic coverage configurations, and quotation packages on behalf of the Underwriter.
  5. Collaborate with Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and internal teams to effectively manage the workflow and status of multiple accounts.
  6. Ensure timely communication regarding account status to facilitate the completion of outstanding requirements for policy issuance and premium collection.
  7. Maintain a detailed understanding of various tasks managed by Underwriters and other stakeholders globally.
  8. Correspond with internal and external contacts, considering local languages and time zones, to deliver exceptional service and meet client expectations.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the insurance sector is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with diverse groups. Proven abilities in prioritization, time management, and problem-solving are crucial for success in this role.
