The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is seeking applications for the role of Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Revenue Officer. This is a full-time career opportunity with a competitive salary range of $285,000 to $300,000 annually, inclusive of comprehensive health benefits and participation in the NCAA Retirement Plan. The NCAA is renowned for its commitment to excellence in collegiate sports, fostering an environment where student-athletes excel in their athletic pursuits, academic endeavors, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance revenue-generating initiatives across multiple channels, including ticket sales, sponsorship agreements, multimedia rights, licensing, and merchandise sales.
- Supervise designated administrative functions, act as a sport administrator, and spearhead departmental projects focused on revenue enhancement, marketing, sales, and resource management.
- Develop and uphold fair and consistent policies for staff and coaches while overseeing various administrative divisions within the department.
- Participate as a member of the executive leadership team and collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics.
- Engage in strategic planning, conduct market assessments, and innovate revenue streams to bolster the financial stability and expansion of the department.
- Ensure that assigned NCAA sport programs consistently achieve top national rankings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience within a major research institution or a similarly complex environment, ideally within a large university or comparable athletic program.
- A profound understanding of the collegiate sports landscape and its revenue mechanisms, demonstrated by a successful history of revenue growth and management.
- Proficient knowledge of revenue generation principles, sales, marketing, or related sectors within the sports industry.
- Expertise in financial analysis and budget oversight.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
- Demonstrated familiarity with intercollegiate athletics issues and terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the mission and values of the NCAA and its strategic objectives.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with external affairs, athletics leadership, colleagues, key stakeholders, volunteers, and other constituents.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to foster and lead team-oriented approaches to achieving goals.
- Strong management and supervisory abilities, including staff recruitment, retention, professional development, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Robust strategic planning, analytical, and organizational skills to devise and implement innovative, credible solutions while adapting to evolving market conditions.
- Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to NCAA, university, and conference regulations.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work evenings and weekends as required.
