Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Technician will possess expertise in general upkeep, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of trucks and machinery. A solid understanding of diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical frameworks, and pumps is essential. Familiarity with drilling rigs and associated equipment is advantageous.

Moreover, adaptability along with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, as well as strong organizational skills, are crucial due to the diverse requests encountered daily. A positive demeanor and a readiness to assist fellow team members are mandatory. The ability to collaborate within a team environment independently is vital for achieving success.

Key Responsibilities
- Review all maintenance request forms, provide recommendations, obtain pricing, and discuss alternatives with the Shop Manager when necessary for executing repairs.
- Repair and maintain all drilling rigs, trucks, trailers, and additional equipment.
- Complete documentation for all repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct 90-day and annual inspections on all drilling rigs, trucks, trailers, and other equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Regularly inspect and assess the physical condition of equipment to guarantee adherence to safety standards.
- Oversee and direct field testing for all completed work requests, communicating outcomes to the initial requestor and Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Maintain accurate notification and documentation of all vehicle downtime, repairs, and resolutions, ensuring proper file management.
- Order materials, parts, and supplies as needed.
- Ensure all rigs and equipment are kept in optimal working condition.
- Document exceptions and forward them to the Administrative Assistant for computer entry.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Perform all duties in compliance with safety practices, policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds throughout the workday.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, welding, and fabrication.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime and various shifts.
- Familiarity with power/hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer repair manuals.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
