About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Governance Specialist to join our team at BMO Financial Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining an effective internal control framework that ensures the implementation, management, and monitoring of governance practices across our business portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze business processes to identify opportunities for risk mitigation through the development and implementation of new controls or revisions to existing controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve consistency and transparency of control measurement and reporting.
  • Develop governance and control-related solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of our business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead or assist in the maintenance, monitoring, measurement, and reporting on the status of our internal controls governance framework/program to various internal and external stakeholder audiences.
  • Coordinate and participate in the execution of oversight/governance activities, including reporting, assessment of education and training needs, development and delivery of training, and management of review/updates to policies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to assigned business groups on the implementation of the control framework, including effective challenge.
  • Identify areas for corrective action and escalate as necessary, ensuring that corrective action is taken.
Requirements
  • Typically between 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in risk management, audit, compliance, governance, and/or project management is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial banking is preferred but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the business and regulatory environment.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $93,600.00, a salaried pay type, and a comprehensive total compensation package that includes performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks and rewards.
