Position Overview

The Swift Group is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to enhance our development team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Java APIs utilizing Spring Boot framework.
  • Facilitate integration of Spring Boot applications with third-party external APIs.
  • Collaborate with the database team to align models with PostgreSQL database structures.
  • Partner with the infrastructure team to deploy applications on web servers.
  • Promote innovative development methodologies that enhance the quality, availability, resilience, and scalability of our solutions.
  • Conduct presentations of new features and functionalities to stakeholders.
  • Create and execute unit tests for both new and existing Java applications.
  • Generate documentation and support program management with deliverables related to backend operations and user workflows.
  • Assist in formulating user stories and features for ongoing and future projects.
  • Support the frontend team during the integration of backend REST API calls.
  • Engage in analytical efforts to identify and recommend solutions, integration points, and implementation architectures for business enhancements, scalability, and performance improvements.
  • Mentor junior developers and administrators through code reviews, solution design, and suggested training and development pathways.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 16+ years of pertinent experience.
  • Proficient in Java programming.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Angular 15, Git/Gitlab, Bootstrap, Angular Material, and Cypress.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and/or Confluence.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance are mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Scrum, SaFE, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies.
  • Experience with Apache PDFBox.
  • Knowledge of Junit testing framework.
  • Understanding of Data Analytics Dashboard Tool Integration.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance and Management Integration.
  • AWS DevOps and/or AWS Certified Practitioner certification.
  • Experience in commercial or national security sector DevOps.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
