Job Summary

Omitron, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Software Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of satellite spaceflight safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software systems to protect satellites from various hazards in space.
  • Lead teams of mid-level and junior developers in software development and testing.
  • Collaborate with senior scientists and engineers to develop and implement software solutions.
  • Interface with multiple stakeholders to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform.
  • Develop and maintain software systems to support all phases of satellite life cycle.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or software development with Java.
  • Strong understanding of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Basic knowledge of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret / SCI security clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle Java Certification (or equivalent).
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (or equivalent).
  • Red Hat Linux experience.
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
