Job Location: Chantilly, VA (On-site 100%)

Security Clearance Requirement:
Active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory. Candidates must possess a Current CI Poly or agree to undergo a Polygraph examination during a briefing.

Position Overview:
Cohere Technology Group is seeking a proactive and collaborative Mid-to-Senior Software Engineer to enhance our innovative development team dedicated to supporting a Government client. The team is engaged in creating a large-scale enterprise application utilizing web technologies, distributed computing, and advanced domain analytics, hosted on virtualized and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight while also collaborating effectively with team members to fulfill project goals.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Java Software Engineer will be an integral part of a development team that employs agile methodologies alongside established software practices and a technology-driven development environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Participating in the complete agile development lifecycle, including daily SCRUM meetings, story grooming, and sprint execution.
  • Developing software and enhancing the existing software framework to introduce new functionalities and improve current capabilities using essential technologies and frameworks.
  • Maintaining the deployed system, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and providing user support as necessary.
  • Offering technical and methodological guidance to the team, fostering self-reliance and high effectiveness in achieving project objectives.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Java development, with some exposure to Relational Database Management Systems.
  • At least 6 years of experience with Angular 3+ or similar front-end web application frameworks.
  • Experience with middle-tier messaging systems such as Kafka or Active MQ, along with development and implementation of RESTful web services.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is required, along with the need for a Current CI Poly or consent to Poly at a briefing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience working on a program that follows SAFe Methodology.
