About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist/Stormwater Professional to join our team at Surf to Snow Environmental Resource Management, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing company that values environmental stewardship and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support environmental and stormwater compliance projects, including assisting clients in complying with stormwater regulations and preventing pollutants from entering waterways.
  • Conduct stormwater inspections, develop and implement Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and/or site stabilization plans, conduct stormwater sampling, and provide on-site training to construction crews.
  • Prepare related documentation and reporting, including desktop evaluations and Rain Event Action Plans.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to support routine and complex projects, and participate in special initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
  • BS or BA degree in an environmental discipline, sciences, or engineering.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in SWPPP, including sampling and analysis, non-stormwater and stormwater visual observations, and environmental restoration.
  • Knowledge of water quality or stormwater management information, techniques, practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the California State Water Board Permits.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current QSP/QSD Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Relevant certification such as Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspectors (CESSWI), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ), and/or Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP).
  • Cross-training in natural resources, including wetlands and/or environmental permitting.
  • Experience with the California Stormwater Multiple Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS).
  • Familiarity with the California Stormwater Construction General Permit and California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) Construction Handbook.
  • Possess knowledge of environmental key issues and trends, including emerging best practices and technology.
  • Competency with Arc GIS Pro.
