Youth Program Coordinator

Charleston, West Virginia, United States Boys & Girls Club Crescent Region Full time

Classification: Part-time; Monday-Friday between the hours of 2 pm-6:30 pm; up to 4 hours a day; $15 an hour; summer hours vary.

General Overview:
Responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing various activities and programs. Ensure the safety of participants, maintain high-quality programming, and uphold the appearance of the facility at all times. Program Aide/Specialist Subs will only report to work when needed to sites in their selected region.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to effectively interact with staff, youth, parents, community leaders, educational institutions, and local organizations.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of youth development principles.
BI-LINGUAL IN ENGLISH/SPANISH IS A PLUS.
Comprehend the organization's philosophy, vision, and objectives.
Capability to build and nurture positive relationships with youth.


Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED or higher education. 6 months to 2 years of experience in program delivery. (Hourly rate is contingent upon education and experience level.)

Promote and embody Core Values
Implement Educational Curriculum
Plan, execute, and supervise programs and activities.
Provide mentorship and role modeling to participants.
Create engaging and informative displays and bulletin boards that highlight program areas.
Assist in the execution of national initiatives and exhibitions.
Inspire and mentor youth, adults, and volunteers in the creative process.
Maintain records of participants, schedules, attendance, and program outcomes.
Certification in First Aid/CPR is mandatory.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be adept at managing multiple projects alongside daily tasks. Ability to interact positively with diverse personalities while demonstrating tact, maturity, and adaptability. Physical requirements include visual and auditory capabilities, standing for extended periods, and the ability to implement programs effectively.


Work Environment:
After school and recreational settings that may involve both indoor and outdoor activities. Occasional weekend and evening commitments may be necessary to support organizational fundraising events and activities.
