Position Overview:

Peraton is in search of a Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of Satellite Mission Planning and Scheduling applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our systems are effectively engineered to meet the demands of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements to inform software specifications.
  • Support the design and implementation of software solutions, ensuring they align with established requirements.
  • Engage in testing and deployment activities for applications within an AWS Cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to plan, execute, and demonstrate capabilities throughout Agile Sprint cycles.
  • Communicate engineering concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.

Technical Duties:

  • Analyze and derive system requirements for mission planning and scheduling software applications.
  • Oversee the implementation and testing of applications using Agile methodologies in a cloud setting.
  • Deliver applications utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient build and deployment processes.
  • Develop scheduling algorithms that are moderately complex in nature.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in data structures and algorithms.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain a polygraph.

Desired:

  • Experience with mission planning and scheduling systems.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services cloud architecture.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with at least 3 years of experience in creating technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for effective interaction with internal teams and clients.
  • Understanding of Agile Product Development Cycle and modern DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in delivering CI/CD pipelines for software deployment.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team environment.
