Overview:

The Infrastructure Systems Specialist will be responsible for the planning, design, configuration, and maintenance of the enterprise server and storage framework at Space Coast Credit Union. This role will also oversee the management and enhancement of both private and public cloud infrastructures. The incumbent will assess the environment to validate the technologies in place, enhance performance, reliability, and ensure adherence to security protocols.

This position acts as a technical authority, engaging in configuration consultations, vendor assessments, and troubleshooting across various systems. A comprehensive understanding of researching, designing, implementing, and resolving issues related to information systems and cloud technologies is essential to support organizational objectives. The candidate will be expected to manage and prioritize projects effectively, designing intricate multi-system solutions tailored to business requirements. Recommendations in these areas will be made with a high degree of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to user support requests to resolve standard application software issues or assist with hardware challenges remotely when feasible. Direct more complex inquiries as necessary. Maintain records in an incident management system to accurately document problems and solutions for a shared knowledge base or escalate as needed for advanced support.
  • Administer and oversee the virtual and physical server environment, storage, and associated infrastructure. Ensure optimal system functionality, including monitoring hardware and storage platforms. Additionally, manage the allocation of physical resources.
  • Specify, acquire, and implement server, storage, and cloud technologies. Assess factors such as vendor specifications, departmental needs, transaction volumes, time constraints, cost limitations, security requirements, access restrictions, and business continuity to determine hardware configurations.
  • Analyze data to recommend and plan layouts for computer systems and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing setups, to facilitate proposed projects, efficient operations, effective space utilization, and system recoverability.
  • Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot applications as required, including both internally developed and vendor systems, VMware, Microsoft clustering, SCCM, ADFS, and enterprise storage platforms (e.g., EMC VNX and Unity). Provide support for Microsoft technologies (e.g., Exchange) and sub-systems such as DHCP and DNS.
  • Engage in information technology projects, ensuring accountability for tasks, deadlines, and progress.
  • Document relevant technical procedures, operational manuals, and other guidance. Serve as a liaison between Space Coast Credit Union and vendors concerning system-related matters.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade server operating systems and applications. Identify and resolve issues with server hardware and application software. Establish and uphold system documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with FISERV DNA application administration is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • For Core Systems: Proficiency in SQL queries and shell scripting is necessary. Direct experience with relational databases is preferred.

Education & Experience:

Level I: 3 to 5 years of experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Level II: 5 to 8 years of experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Level III: 8 to 10 years of experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
