Position Overview:

The Infrastructure Systems Specialist will be responsible for the planning, design, configuration, and maintenance of the enterprise server and storage environment at Space Coast Credit Union. This role will also oversee the management and enhancement of both private and public cloud infrastructures. A critical aspect of this position involves reviewing the environment to validate the technologies in place, enhancing performance, ensuring reliability, and adhering to security protocols.

This position acts as a technical authority, engaging in configuration consultations, vendor assessments, and troubleshooting across various systems. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of researching, designing, implementing, and resolving issues related to information systems and cloud technologies to meet organizational needs. With minimal supervision, the candidate will effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects, crafting intricate multi-system solutions tailored to business requirements. They will be expected to provide recommendations in these areas with a high degree of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address end-user support requests to resolve standard application software issues or assist with hardware challenges remotely when feasible. Escalate more complex inquiries as necessary. Maintain records in an incident management system to document problems and resolutions for a shared knowledge base.
  • Administer and oversee the virtual and physical server environment, storage, and associated infrastructure at Space Coast Credit Union, ensuring optimal system performance through continuous monitoring.
  • Identify, procure, and implement server, storage, and cloud technologies. Assess various factors including vendor specifications, departmental needs, transaction volumes, time constraints, security requirements, and business continuity to determine appropriate hardware configurations.
  • Analyze data to recommend and plan layouts for computer systems and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing setups, ensuring efficient operation and effective use of space.
  • Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot applications as required, including both internally developed and vendor solutions, as well as technologies such as VMware, Microsoft clustering, and enterprise storage platforms.
  • Participate in IT projects, being accountable for assigned tasks, milestones, and overall project status.
  • Document technical procedures, operational manuals, and provide guidance. Serve as a liaison between Space Coast Credit Union and vendors regarding system-related matters.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade server operating systems and applications. Diagnose and resolve issues with server hardware and software applications. Establish and uphold system documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with FISERV DNA application administration is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.
  • For Core Systems: Proficiency in SQL queries and shell scripting is necessary. Direct experience with relational databases is preferred.

Education & Experience:

Level I: 3 to 5 years of prior experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Level II: 5 to 8 years of prior experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Level III: 8 to 10 years of prior experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.
