Position Overview: The Senior Systems Engineering Specialist is a skilled professional with substantial expertise in the field. Operating under general guidance, this role involves establishing objectives within the designated job area. The individual will engage with various stakeholders to elucidate and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. The role includes recognizing and addressing changes within the job scope, working towards achieving operational goals for specific programs and projects that moderately influence departmental outcomes. Responsibilities encompass implementing enhancements or improvements to systems and processes to resolve issues or boost the efficiency of the job area. Problem-solving typically relies on previous experiences, coupled with thorough analysis of the challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of functional block diagrams, use-case diagrams, and cabling diagrams.
  • Preparation of Engineering Change Orders.
  • Execution of trade studies.
  • Development of requirements specifications.
  • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure proper integration of systems aspects.
  • Planning for integration and testing, including the development of plans and procedures.
  • Preparation and presentation of design review materials.
  • Management and coordination of system interfaces with interconnected systems.
  • Verification of system interfaces.
  • Conducting system test activities, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Providing mentorship to junior RF Engineers.
  • Understanding of Telemetry Systems, Test Missile Kit, and SSBN operations.
  • Experience in testing RF systems both in laboratory settings and on-site.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Possession of a Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven initiative, drive, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with EMI and EMC Mil-Standards.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
