Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at Workforce Enterprises. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation management systems, managing workflow and task execution, and integrating all functions to our site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Guidance: Provide transportation guidance to your location, managing workflow and task execution, and integrating all functions to the site.
  • Compliance and Training: Implement and ensure compliance to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), ensuring all employees are trained and adhere to these policies or report any non-conformances for correction.
  • Load Quote Request: Ensure proper process of request through the system, ensure rates are accurate, responses are done on a timely manner, professionally and expeditiously.
  • Dispatch Agent Training: Ensure Dispatch Agents are properly trained in the carrier selection for optimal efficiency, proper carrier communication, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Communication: Provide timely communication to customers on all aspects of shipment status.
  • Carrier Relationship Building: Point of contact for carriers, and proactively follows up regularly to build relationships and to grow a registry of carrier companies who can provide broker truckload shipments at desirable rates.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all documentation and reports are processed in a timely manner and accurately.
  • Carrier Performance Monitoring: Monitor and record carrier performance and failures.
  • Process Improvement: Work closely with Logistics Manager to continually improve processes, carrier selection, and services.
  • Discretion and Judgment: Exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues that may arise during shipment.
  • Employee Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and measure employee performance and help develop their skills.
  • Customer Service: Provide optimum customer service and lead by example in all aspects of Manager/Supervisors job responsibilities.
  • Team Environment: Create a positive environment for employees and co-workers and help maintain morale.
  • Availability: Participate in meetings and will be expected to work weekends, holidays, long hours when needed, and be on call 24/7 for emergencies, staffing concerns, etc.
Requirements
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Stress Management: Ability to manage stress in self and others within a fast-paced environment, adapting readily to change.
  • Technical Skills: Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications, and have (TMS) Transportation Management Systems software knowledge related to load processing, quote request, shipment tracking, etc.
  • Analytical Skills: Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile, and analyze data.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to interact with all levels of upper management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual is a plus.
  • Education and Experience: Degree in related field or must have 5+ years of equivalent experience in transportation or logistics, which includes customer processing, route delivery procedures, and basic security and operational procedures, transportation, logistics, Brokerage, and/or 3PL environments.
  • Managerial Experience: Must have 2+ years' experience in a manager/supervisor or lead position in Traffic or related field.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of DOT rules and regulations, vehicle weight capacity, and load spec's, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Standing and Sitting: Must be able to work standing up or sitting down for long periods of time.
  • Warehouse Environment: Must be able to traverse and access all areas of a warehouse environment.
  • Temperature Variations: Must be able to work in a Distribution Center environment with a variation of temperatures.
  • Climbing Stairs: Must be able to climb stairs.
