Position Overview

The Regional Facilities Operations Manager will ensure that FOSS pools, pump rooms, and educational facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing an exceptional experience for both customers and staff.

This role will oversee multiple locations within the region.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise vendors and contracted services.
  • Acquire necessary components and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Reduce equipment downtime through effective spare parts management and timely installations.
  • Identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental best practices.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive maintenance schedule for critical systems, including pools, pump rooms, HVAC, and building infrastructure.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test plumbing systems in compliance with applicable codes.
  • Oversee general maintenance and filter schedules for HVAC systems.
  • Install and repair electrical wiring and fixtures.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting or treatment by sealing joints and repairing imperfections.
  • Conduct regular audits of pump rooms and facilities to ensure compliance and assess system needs.
  • Manage ongoing and completed projects to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Oversee the work order process for all regional facilities and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as necessary while managing project budgets.
  • Provide guidance and support to local staff during maintenance issues or emergencies.
  • Actively engage in team meetings and collaborative projects across all FOSS locations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years in general contracting, building maintenance, or facilities management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in pool maintenance and pump room operations.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification (training available if needed).
  • Proficient in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, plumbing tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience supporting operations across multiple locations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to identify and resolve issues or make proactive recommendations.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas to team members and vendors.

Working Conditions

Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing 25-50 pounds without assistance, and heavier tasks with assistance. Clear and professional communication is essential. Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders is required. Regular use of computers and office tools is necessary. The role involves working in an indoor pool facility that may be humid and damp.

Job Type: Full-time
Job Shifts: Monday-Friday, with potential evening and weekend work as needed. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
