Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance existing infrastructure, including licensing, servers, networking equipment, desktops, laptops, printers, operating systems, and telephony. This includes labeling, documenting, and installing new hardware and software as needed, as well as recommending and executing hardware upgrades and resource optimization. You will also be responsible for repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures.
  • Establish end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations while adhering to best practices concerning privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes. This includes reviewing system and application logs and ensuring the completion of scheduled tasks. Regular security monitoring will be performed to prevent and identify potential or actual intrusions, along with periodic performance reporting.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, servers, printers, and workstations, escalating incidents as necessary.
  • Execute daily backup operations to ensure that all required production systems and data are successfully backed up and stored off-site for long-term preservation. Conduct yearly archival of data to optimize resources.
  • Assist in maintaining IT security infrastructure in collaboration with other IT personnel, which includes active directory management, file system permissions, anti-virus measures, firewalls, databases, and other appliances.
  • Manage user accounts and provide training to employees on new or existing technologies.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality technical support to end users. Respond promptly to user issues and document solutions through the trouble ticket system and other necessary means.
  • Regularly apply operating system patches and upgrades, upgrade administrative tools and utilities, and perform monthly server maintenance during non-peak hours.
  • Travel may be required for onsite support at sister facilities.
  • Be prepared for off-hours work and on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a Windows Active Directory environment, including PCs, laptops, and servers.
  • Proven proficiency with a wide range of hardware and software.
  • Experience with VEEAM software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: VMware or ESXi, NetApp (network-based storage), Cisco network switching and routing, Backup Exec software, Quantum Tape Library.
  • Hands-on experience in software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service orientation along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proactive, self-reliant, and resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
