Job Overview

Benshaw Inc. is looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our products through rigorous inspection processes.


Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of both in-process and outgoing components and assemblies. This position requires meticulous documentation and analysis of inspection results to ensure compliance with industry standards, including those set by governmental and UL regulations.

In addition to inspections, the QA Technician will play a vital role in supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. This includes participating in projects such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Torque Monitoring, and Terminal Crimping Analysis.

As part of CI projects, the technician may be tasked with developing project plans and delivering presentations to various stakeholders, including colleagues and management.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of manufacturing processes and outgoing products.
  • Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Develop project plans for assigned CI initiatives and present findings.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to suggest and implement process enhancements aimed at improving product quality based on First Pass Yield (FPY) results.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Draft and implement procedures in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Assist in validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays.
  • Interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Analyze complex issues and present findings using software tools.

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in wiring, assembly, or testing/troubleshooting of drives, soft starters, sub-assemblies, and/or various components in a panel shop environment. Experience in a 508 UL Panel Shop is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Electronics or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electronic panels and assemblies down to the component level.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • At least 2 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
