Position Title: Building Maintenance Electrician

Position Overview:

The Building Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for executing a variety of electrical maintenance tasks. This includes maintaining all primary and secondary electrical distribution systems up to 600 volts, troubleshooting control circuitry, variable frequency drives, and other specialized electrical systems. The role also involves wiring outlets, relocating fixtures, and installing lighting and power panels, including in existing and underground raceways when necessary. Additionally, the electrician will perform plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance duties as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:


• Maintain and troubleshoot all primary and secondary electrical distribution systems up to 600 volts, including control circuitry and special electrical systems.

• Service batteries and transformers as required.

• Complete all preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records for assigned responsibilities.

• Prepare and submit electrician's reports for all completed work.

• Provide recommendations to supervisors regarding equipment performance.

• Respond to emergency situations as needed.

• Ensure a safe and organized work environment by adhering to company and customer safety policies.

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of four years of experience in a commercial setting.

    • Possession of a Journeyman's license or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program.

    • At least five years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and ordinances.

    • Ability to read and interpret plans, schematics, and technical drawings.

    • Experience in estimating electrical labor, materials, and equipment costs.

    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Competencies: Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, proportions, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra, Ohm's Law, and geometry. Forklift and aerial lift operation certification preferred. Capable of solving practical problems in diverse situations with limited standardization. Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions effectively.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling and feeling. The employee must be able to climb, balance, and lift weights up to 100 pounds as necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:
This position involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock. Employees may encounter wet or humid conditions, high precarious positions, fumes, and extreme temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
