Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at Veolia North America.
Job Summary:The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of the wastewater treatment plant equipment, pump stations, and lift stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wastewater treatment principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:- Operate wastewater treatment plant equipment on a shift basis, including pumps, valves, and control systems.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment, including cleaning consoles and removing debris.
- Collect and record data on equipment operation, including meter readings and gauge readings.
- Prepare reports and records related to equipment operation and maintenance.
- Perform laboratory sampling and testing, as required.
- Work collaboratively with other plant operators and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective plant operation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with a strong understanding of wastewater treatment principles and practices.
- Massachusetts Grade IV or higher Wastewater/Water Treatment Certification required; Massachusetts Collection System Grade I desirable.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet risk management guidelines.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, unpleasant odors, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will also be required to work in a variety of weather conditions and may be exposed to vibrations and noise.
