Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging support to clinical physicians at Carle Health. This role involves performing a variety of skilled duties associated with the operation of specialized equipment to assist physicians in the examination and treatment of diseases of the eye.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Perform multiple ophthalmic imaging procedures, including digital and film fluorescein/ICG angiography, color fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, anterior segment slit-lamp biomicroscopy, goniography, and public relations and teaching-based general photography.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain ongoing requirements for research trials, supervise other photographers, and perform essential job duties of OA/OT I.
  • Qualifications and Certifications: Possess an Associate's degree in a related field, certification as a Certified Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT-C) within 6 months, and certification as a Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) within 4 years.
  • Experience and Skills: Have 1 year of experience in a related healthcare field and possess medical terminology knowledge.
Requirements
  • Medical Terminology: Possess knowledge of standard photographic techniques, materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Essential Functions: Take images of ophthalmic patients using specialized equipment, supervise and direct ophthalmic photographers, prepare images and videos for lectures and educational presentations, and obtain certification for clinical research studies.
