We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Aide to join our team at Westhab Inc. The successful candidate will provide essential support services to clients in a homeless shelter, ensuring their basic needs are met and promoting a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Client Intake and Orientation: Complete intakes for new clients, provide orientation to the facility, and explain DHS rules and regulations.
- Meal Service and Hygiene: Serve meals and snacks to clients during meal times, and maintain a clean and organized storage area.
- Area Inspections and Monitoring: Perform regular area inspections to ensure shelter rules are adhered to, and monitor sitting areas, laundry rooms, and cafeteria to prevent any issues.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client information, including lock logs and client property storage.
- Support Services: Assist clients with daily living skills, cleaning, laundry, hygiene, and other essential tasks.
- Laundry and Linen Management: Launder and fold agency towels, washcloths, and shelter linens, and follow the laundry schedule to ensure timely washing and storage.
- Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in staff meetings, house meetings, in-service training, and weekly/bi-weekly case reviews to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Incident Response: Respond to incidents as necessary, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients and staff.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
- Experience: 1-year experience dealing with homeless or special needs populations.
- Certifications: Food Handlers Certification required.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
