Residential Support Staff

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Staff to join our team at Caregiver, Inc. As a Residential Support Staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to lead their best lives. Our mission is to enable people with IDD to live with dignity, independence, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining skills, housekeeping skills, social skills, and community access.
- Provide direct support and assist individuals in training activities as specified in ISPs and activity schedules.
- Aid in mobility as needed for those using wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
- Assist with meal service, teach dining skills, and promote social skills and personal dignity during meals.
- Administer medications and treatments according to company policy.
- Act as a Primary Person (P2) for one or more individuals, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
- Attend and successfully complete in-service training sessions as scheduled.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to fellow Direct Support Professionals.
- Complete data collection, observation notes, and daily reports as directed by agency policy and procedure.
- Assist individuals in transportation as needed.
- Participate as a member of the Individual Support Team, providing input toward the individual's ISP.
- Monitor individuals' activities to ensure safety and health care practices are observed, and Universal Precaution Practices are followed.
- Perform related duties as required or assigned to fulfill the agency philosophy and the goals and objectives of the program site.
Requirements
- A high school education or its equivalent is preferred.
- Some previous experience in supporting/assisting those with disabilities is preferred.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background checks as required by federal and/or state laws and any other post-offer, pre-employment screenings as mandated by a governing agency or the company.
