Job Summary and Qualifications

The Freestanding Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily interactions, you will maintain a safe and supportive environment. You will identify nursing challenges based on the unique needs of each patient and develop individualized care plans using an interdisciplinary approach. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is essential, as is the coordination of care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the charge nurse capacity, registered nurses will oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs and acuity, serving as clinical resources for the team, and responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patient concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patients' conditions while maintaining precise and thorough records.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment options, and care for patients across various age groups.
  • Promote hospital customer service initiatives.
  • Utilize the nursing process to tailor care to meet patients' needs.
  • Exhibit proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure by the TN Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of employment.
  • CPI certification within six months of employment.
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience.
  • Emergency Room experience is highly preferred.
