Role Responsibilities and QualificationsThe Freestanding Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and documenting patient conditions, ensuring accurate and thorough records.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to assess patient health.
- Applying knowledge of human development and treatment protocols for various patient age groups.
- Promoting customer service initiatives within the hospital.
- Utilizing the nursing process to tailor care to individual patient needs.
- Exhibiting proficiency in technical skills and procedures.
Qualifications Required:
- Current RN licensure from the TN Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within one year of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within six months of hire.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience, with a preference for emergency room experience.
