Senior Academic Advisor Opportunity at Emory University

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Academic Advisor to join our team of dedicated professionals providing academic advising services to our students. As a Senior Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing academic advising to JD and LLM students at Emory Law as their primary source of academic advising and planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and advise students with course selection based on their interests, goals, graduation requirements, and bar-tested subjects.
  • Monitor students' academic progress.
  • Develop communications and update student files in Symplicity.
  • Coordinate and assist with programming with other advisors.
  • Refer students to appropriate law school and campus resources if necessary.
  • Participate in departmental strategic planning and implementing the strategic plan.
Requirements:
  • A Juris Doctor or Juris Master degree from an ABA-Accredited law school, OR a master's degree and seven years of experience advising law students in the United States.
  • Experience working with complex databases, customer relations management systems, and/or student information systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preparing students for bar exam success.
  • Experience advising international students.
  • Experience working with executive educational programs and mid- to late-career students.
