ESIS Claims Representative, WC

As a Claims Representative, WC, you will play a critical role in investigating and settling workers' compensation claims promptly, equitably, and within established best practices guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate claims to determine the extent of liability and the company's obligation to the insured.
- Conduct interviews and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, and other relevant parties.
- Evaluate facts to determine the extent of liability and recommend reserve changes to the Team Leader.
- Prepare reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, and individual evaluations of involved parties.
- Settle claims promptly and equitably, and obtain releases, proofs of loss, or compensation agreements as necessary.
- Establish and maintain strong customer relations, and communicate effectively with claimants, insureds, customers, and attorneys.
- May assist in preparing cases for trial, and participate in claim file reviews and audits with customers, insureds, and brokers.
- 2-5 years' experience handling claims in a relevant line of business.
- Basic knowledge of claims handling and familiarity with claims terminologies.
- Effective negotiation skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to self-motivate and work independently.
- Knowledge of company products, services, coverages, and policy limits, as well as awareness of the company's claims best practices.
- Knowledge of applicable state and local laws.
