Job Summary

Community Integrated Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Trainer to join our Transition team. As an Employment Trainer, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Individualized Support: Work with students aged 16-24 to explore their job interests and strengths, and provide individualized support and instruction to participants in all stages of their job placement.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Communicate and coordinate with students, parents, and teachers regarding work assessments and internship opportunities.
  • Develop Training Plans: Design individualized training plans, task lists, and fading plans in accordance with job requirements and the needs of the participant.
  • Provide Travel Training: Provide travel training, as needed, to the CIS office or to new places of employment.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with team members, members of the business development team, benefits counseling team, and CIS employees in specialized areas to support participants in the best possible way.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain a detailed record of on-site performance by completing daily case notes.
  • Update Participant Information: Update participant information as needed.
  • Communicate with Participants and Families: Maintain frequent contact with the participant and families, and update other key team members on the participants you share.
  • Participate in Meetings: Participate in meetings when scheduled.
  • Contribute to Own Skills and Knowledge: Contribute to own skills and knowledge by attending and completing assigned training.
  • Train Other Coaches: Train other coaches at job sites, as needed.
  • Report Incidents: Report any unusual incidents or employer concerns immediately.
  • Provide Written, Verbal, and Electronic Communication: Provide written, verbal, and electronic communication to our participants, employers, families, funders, and other CIS team members.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred (four year college or technical school).
  • Experience: 1 plus years of experience in Education, Social Services or Business preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Driver's License: Possess valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Home Computer: Must have a home computer with internet access and video capabilities.
  • Background Checks: Able to pass all required background checks.
  • Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated or in the process of getting fully vaccinated.
