Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Supported Employment Specialist to join our team at Comhar Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing case management services to assist Clubhouse members in achieving their goals in living, learning, working, and recreating in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the employment services of the Open Door Clubhouse, overseeing contractual obligations to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Participate in Unit Meetings, discussing Work Ordered Day tasks and volunteering to perform tasks according to member choice.
  • Participate in Work Ordered Day activities, working alongside members and supporting them in accomplishing tasks while preparing them for job readiness.
  • Conduct orientation for new members to employment services offered by the clubhouse.
  • Ensure members have appropriate identification for employment and provide assistance in obtaining identification as needed.
  • Make provision for members to learn public transportation, as needed.
  • Conduct group activities focused on resume writing, job searching, hygiene, and job interviewing techniques, socialization, and assertiveness skills.
  • Conduct interviews with clubhouse members interested in Transitional Employment Placements, assisted by members of the Employment Services Unit.
  • Report on member employment and earnings to benefit providers.
  • Facilitate monthly dinner meetings for employed members or those considering employment, for support, socialization, and exchange of work-related information.
  • Perform Placement Manager duties for Transitional Employment Placements, including job coaching, support, and liaison work between employers and members.
  • Prepare outcome measures relevant to member employment for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in clubhouse committees and facilitate Clubhouse Orientation sessions as assigned.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license.
  • 2 years of supported employment work experience.
Education Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or other relevant field.
  • OR An Associate's Degree in Human Services with at least 2 years of experience in the mental health field.
  • OR USPRA certification: CPRP, or in process of obtaining certification.
