Overview:

The Assistant Manager, in collaboration with the General Manager, ensures that all operations within the fitness club align with Onelife Fitness standards. This role involves overseeing multiple departments, including the recruitment, training, management, and discipline of team members. The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in supporting overall club operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver an exceptional fitness experience to every member consistently.
  2. Manage at least one department within the club, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and employee discipline.
  3. Provide leadership and direction to one or more departments within the facility.
  4. Recruit and retain talented team members in assigned areas.
  5. Foster relationships and enhance team morale.

Core Duties:

  1. Ensure operational efficiency, cleanliness, and positive staff relations in accordance with company standards.
  2. Mentor Front Desk personnel through the new hire development program.
  3. Offer continuous coaching and constructive feedback to all staff members.
  4. Organize regular staff meetings to communicate club activities and procedures.
  5. Monitor all point-of-sale interactions with members to ensure successful outcomes.
  6. Create and manage employee schedules, tracking attendance within the department.
  7. Verify and approve department payroll on a bi-monthly basis.
  8. Review departmental expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  9. Participate in all mandatory training sessions, meetings, and professional development courses.
  10. Maintain accurate personnel files for all team members in assigned departments.
  11. Manage inventory, including ordering and restocking items, while optimizing inventory systems.
  12. Promote the sale of merchandise, beverages, and supplements.
  13. Oversee departmental tasks, including member inquiries, vendor scheduling, charity contributions, and more.
  14. Assist in daily club operations as part of the management team.
  15. Complete all daily reports accurately and promptly.
  16. Engage with members during peak hours to build rapport.
  17. Track leads, appointments, and member interests in appropriate systems.
  18. Market the club to local organizations and businesses.
  19. Attend all required meetings and training sessions, seeking ways to enhance personal performance.
  20. Respond to member inquiries or concerns within a timely manner.
  21. Uphold employee standards of conduct and ethics.
  22. Ensure compliance with club policies and emergency procedures.
  23. Act as Manager On Duty as needed.
  24. Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  25. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

  12. Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, MS Windows).

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in recreation, fitness, business management, or a related field is preferred. CPR/AED certification is required.
