Position Overview
General Information:
The Regional Sales Director plays a crucial role in driving sales within the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector, focusing on expanding both new and existing business opportunities. This position involves overseeing a regional sales team of Manufacturer's Representatives to achieve growth in volume, maintain pricing quality, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in strategic sales discussions for the designated region, establishing both short-term and long-term objectives while integrating growth targets as necessary.
- Attain sales goals by effectively managing Sales Representative organizations, conducting market analyses, and overseeing performance metrics.
- Continuously identify customer value perceptions to align our offerings with their purchasing criteria.
- Execute strategies to drive sales of products, systems, and services within the C&I segment, ensuring that sales targets are consistently met or surpassed.
- Ensure that Manufacturer's Representatives operate in accordance with corporate processes, standards, and core values, while proactively managing their performance to maximize value.
- Stay informed about the competitive landscape within the region.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and develop recovery plans in the event of potential order shortfalls.
- Uphold the core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Candidates must possess work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- A minimum of 3 years of sales experience, particularly with sales or manufacturer's representatives.
- A strong aptitude for technical sales is essential.
- Experience in account management is required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing the performance of manufacturer's representatives, including the assessment of performance against established KPIs.
- Responsible for managing sales accounts or regions with revenues of $10 million or more.
- Experience in C&I sales is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the portfolio of products and services within the Hitachi Energy C&I segment.
