Project Controls Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Analyst to join our team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. As a Project Controls Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of large construction projects related to transportation and utility construction projects in the Richmond, VA area and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain electronic filing systems for project documents, including correspondences, RFIs, submittals, logs, meeting minutes, payment requisitions, and potential change orders.
  • Coordinate electronic communications between owners, design consultants, construction consultants, contractors, and other external agencies.
  • Review and track incoming correspondence, ensuring timely action is taken.
  • Maintain logs, including inspection/testing, change status, claims, submittals, construction budgets, and other relevant project information.
  • Review and track the status of submittals, including RFIs, with construction project managers and track design consultant reviews for time-critical submittals.
  • Review contractor's Schedule of Values and Monthly Estimates.
  • Review and process monthly contractor payment applications.
  • Track and process PCOs, Change Notices, Change Orders, and other contractual documents.
  • Review and prepare daily summaries of Inspectors Daily Reports.
  • Coordinate contract close-out activities in accordance with construction project record retention requirements.
  • Track the status of Certificates of Compliance, Warranties, and Guarantees.
  • Maintain project documentation logs and reports, including inspection/testing, change order statuses, claims, submittals, receivables, and other relevant project information.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of construction project controls/construction project management experience, preferably on sizable complex construction projects with budgets of $5-30 million.
  • Associates/Bachelors Degree (preferred) or eight (8) years equivalent work experience on construction projects utilizing project control software similar to Primavera P6 for CPM scheduling and project documentation management system experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry-standard construction management scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing electronic (cloud-based) project documentation systems.
  • State, Federal, or Local project experience is highly preferred.
