Shriners Children's, recognized as a premier medical center for pediatric burn, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties, is seeking a Physician Referral Liaison.

Job Overview
The Physician Referral Liaison plays a crucial role in planning, analyzing, and executing outreach initiatives within the designated market area.

This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships within the physician community to enhance communication channels and expand the referral network for Shriners Children's. The Liaison will also provide leadership with referral assessments to support strategic initiatives and identify market opportunities and competitive threats.

The Liaison is expected to embody the mission, vision, values, and customer service philosophy of Shriners Children's in all job functions and interactions.

This role involves approximately 75% regional travel, with an estimated 10% requiring overnight stays. The position encompasses areas in Virginia, West Virginia, and occasionally neighboring states.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and nurture new and existing referral relationships.
  • Promote Shriners Children's to referring physicians and healthcare providers through various methods, including office visits, digital communication, professional events, and continuing education.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current referring providers through outstanding customer service and communication.
  • Engage actively in regional and state professional organizations, coordinating exhibits and attending events to generate leads.
  • Keep comprehensive CRM records of existing and potential referring provider activities to enhance communication effectiveness and inform strategy development.
  • Set and achieve outreach activity production goals as established by the Market Director, documenting trends and challenges to drive process improvements.
  • Utilize marketing and communication strategies effectively.
  • Analyze referral sources and geographic opportunities using tools like Definitive Healthcare and Sg2 to prioritize outreach efforts.
  • Evaluate payer mix and contracted payor matches among current and potential referring physicians to enhance referral initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership, Marketing & Communications, and corporate staff to ensure a cohesive marketing approach.
  • Act as a liaison between referring providers and Shriners Children's providers to maximize satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present feedback reports to regional and facility leadership.
  • Work with local leadership and Shrine Centers to educate on referral management best practices to boost patient referrals.
  • Collaborate with other physician referral liaisons to standardize referral management processes and share best practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the referral process and address barriers to success.
  • Document and address referring physician complaints to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Participate in discussions with facility leadership and various departments to enhance physician satisfaction regarding the referral process.

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or a related field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with CRM/PRM tools and market data analysis
  • 2+ years in healthcare sales or marketing, or 1+ year in sales/marketing combined with 5+ years of clinical experience
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of successful experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare sales, marketing, or physician liaison roles with a proven track record
  • Experience in a hospital environment is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven relationship-building skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
