In collaboration with the HR Manager and with a reporting line to the Director of Human Resources, the Strategic Human Resources Consultant (SHRC) plays a pivotal role in aligning organizational goals with workforce capabilities across specified business sectors. The SHRC is tasked with managing employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, benefits administration, compensation strategies, and leadership coaching, while acting as a catalyst for organizational change to enhance performance outcomes. This role is essential in fostering leadership development, improving employee engagement, and integrating tailored human capital strategies into business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may evolve to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.
- Serves as a safety advocate, prioritizing workplace safety in all functions. Collaborates with the EHS Manager to implement and uphold safety policies and programs.
- Works alongside business unit leaders to execute strategic plans, understanding HR implications, workforce retention, and training needs in alignment with business objectives.
- Engages closely with management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, boost morale, and improve productivity and retention rates.
- Addresses and resolves standard employee relations matters. Conducts thorough and impartial investigations, collaborating with the HR Manager on more intricate issues such as workplace harassment and discrimination.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of legal obligations concerning daily employee management, mitigating legal risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Represents the organization in unemployment insurance hearings and investigations.
- Guides and supports managers on employee-related matters, performance management, and evaluation processes.
- Oversees recruitment, transfers, promotions, and separations for non-exempt and plant personnel. Prepares offer letters and manages separation documentation in a timely manner.
- May design and implement initiatives to support recruitment and retention goals, including onboarding programs, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
- Identifies training requirements for business units and individual coaching needs. Participates in the assessment and monitoring of training initiatives to ensure effectiveness and follow-up on training objectives.
- Facilitates the onboarding process in conjunction with the lead trainer, ensuring completion of all new hire documentation.
- Responsible for adhering to established HR protocols and administration within the HR system throughout the employee lifecycle, including data management, offer letters, separation documentation, disciplinary actions, attendance tracking, performance reviews, and administering benefits programs.
- Acts as a resource for employees regarding HRIS inquiries, general benefits questions, employee engagement activities, and other HR-related inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field from an accredited institution, coupled with 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources within a manufacturing context; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR or SHRM-SCP certification is advantageous, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues to share information, resolve issues, and provide training or instruction. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex legal documents is essential. Must be capable of drafting correspondence and documentation. Proven experience in coaching and mentoring supervisors/managers, managing difficult conversations, and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiarity with applicable ISO/TS and quality system standards and policies. Experience with HRIS platforms such as Ceridian, ADP, or Paycom is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally encounter fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the office environment is generally low; however, it may be moderate when on the manufacturing floor. Interplant travel may be required.
Compensation: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 annually
