Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Retail Operations Supervisor will manage the sales culture and daily functions of a Vista Outdoor Retail Store to ensure the successful execution of initiatives and that financial targets are achieved.

Our Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for meeting all operational goals and objectives by driving revenue, supporting store teams, attracting and retaining top talent, and ensuring exceptional operational standards, while upholding a strong sense of professionalism and work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for increasing revenue by enhancing sales through the implementation of the Vista selling culture.
  • Oversee the management of a Vista Outdoor retail location, including recruitment, hiring, and training for management and sales positions.
  • Deliver an innovative customer experience that delights and engages our clientele while surpassing sales targets.
  • Develop and implement best practices for retail operations within a Vista Outdoor store.
  • Communicate and uphold policies and procedures for the store, ensuring consistency among the team.
  • Achieve or exceed financial budgets.
  • Analyze performance metrics and collaborate with the Store Manager to enhance operational results.
  • Monitor all key performance indicators (KPIs) by reviewing company reports and sales behaviors.
  • Coordinate with Store/District Manager to manage inventory levels and optimize sales opportunities.
  • Implement marketing strategies to meet and exceed sales objectives.
  • Execute visual merchandising directives while maintaining brand standards.
  • Manage the execution and accountability of training programs.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to plan strategic events aimed at boosting sales and profitability.
  • Oversee the store payroll budgeting process.
  • Maintain communication with the Store/District Manager regarding staffing, merchandising, and operational needs.
  • Engage with Retail Human Resources to address staffing and networking requirements.
  • Support operational tasks related to new store openings, renovations, and special events.
  • Participate in and help lead store sales meetings.
  • Conduct compliance checklists to ensure adherence to sales culture and operational policies.
  • Manage store-level procedures related to merchandise flow, maintenance, and sales support functions.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales team and Store Manager.
  • Adapt to a dynamic environment and respond effectively to changes.
  • Resolve customer service issues within the store.
  • Implement strategies for monitoring employee retention and career development.
  • Continuously assess store staffing in terms of quality and quantity.
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and materials necessary for store operations while managing expenses.
  • Minimize losses through the implementation and management of Vista Outdoor's Loss Prevention program.
  • Provide comprehensive support in the absence of the Store Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:

  • This role routinely utilizes general retail office equipment.
Physical Demands:

  • May require lifting up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to move throughout the retail space for extended periods.
  • May need to stand for long durations during the workday.
  • Significant manual dexterity required for data entry tasks.
Expected Hours of Work:

  • May need to work beyond 8 hours in a day.
  • Availability required from Monday to Sunday.
Compensation:

$22.16

The actual annual salary offered will depend on various factors including experience, location, education, and skills, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
