Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a Lead Environmental Consultant with a specialization in energy facility assessment and permitting, particularly in renewable energy and electric transmission sectors. This role is primarily based in Texas, with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and assesses plans and criteria for various projects and activities.
  • Evaluates the feasibility and integrity of proposed planning initiatives.
  • Acts as a technical advisor and consultant in specialized areas.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversees specialized planning functions, including large-scale development proposals and environmental assessments.
  • Manages planning-related issues and provides strategic advice to leadership.
  • Collaborates with councils, boards, and elected officials on planning matters.
  • Reviews operations and activities to recommend enhancements.
  • Prepares detailed reports on operations and activities, suggesting improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, environmental planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in environmental impact analysis and technical studies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Familiarity with state regulatory requirements and experience in renewable energy projects.
  • Strong background in client relationship management and project leadership.
