Job Overview:

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be a vital member of the collections team, engaging regularly with the legal department. Responsibilities will include assisting in the drafting and evaluation of legal documents pertinent to debt recovery. A strong foundation in legal principles relevant to the financial services industry, along with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, is essential for this role.

Key Duties:

· Document Drafting - Prepare, review, and assist in finalizing various legal documents and court submissions.

· Regulatory Compliance - Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations by staying informed on changes affecting the collections process.

· Case Management - Organize and manage case files, documents, and correspondence to facilitate timely legal proceedings.

· Support for Litigation - Assist in the preparation for court cases in collaboration with the legal team.

· Administrative Duties - Maintain and update databases with relevant case information, contact details, and progress reports.

Generate necessary reports and summaries for management as required.

Essential Competencies:

· Integrity - Due to the sensitive nature of financial transactions, legal assistants in this field must uphold high ethical standards.

· Attention to Detail - Thoroughly review legal documents, contracts, and regulatory submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Effective Communication - Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear legal documents.

· Organizational Abilities - Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

· Team Collaboration - Work effectively with the collections team, internal stakeholders, and external parties to achieve shared objectives.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant within a collections environment.

· A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

· Notary Public Certification is preferred.
