Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Duffy's Sports Grill. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and coordinating of all restaurant operations and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of quality in our food and beverage products and services.
  • Oversee the management of labor costs, budgets, and sales, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement effective coaching and counseling strategies to ensure the success of our team members.
  • Manage HR issues, including recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including SNAG and labor laws.
  • Process payroll and manage employee benefits.
  • Train and mentor managers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Deliver team player annual reviews and ensure that all employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide orientation for all new staff members and ensure that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Manage the front-of-house (FOH) training program, ensuring that all staff members have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement business strategies and plans.
  • Manage the budget and ensure that we are operating within our financial targets.
  • Understand and manage the General Ledger, including accounts and approved vendors.
  • Manage the bar and liquor inventory, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain budgeted food and beverage costs and work to increase bar sales.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective specials and promotions.
  • Manage liquor ordering and inventory.
  • Handle cash transactions, comps, and voids, and manage cash in drawers.
  • Enter all invoices and manage accounts payable.
  • Create bartender schedules and manage staff rotas.
  • Keep marketing materials current and ensure that we are promoting our brand effectively.
  • Ensure menu specification compliance and manage health inspections.
  • Understand and manage Ecosure goals and ensure that we are operating sustainably.
  • Display good judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Understand and manage SMART goals and ensure that we are achieving our objectives.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional approach to coworkers and customers.
