Overview

This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance on electronic medical and clinical equipment within a healthcare setting. The technician will engage in various tasks related to the installation, upkeep, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment, all under the supervision of a seasoned healthcare technology management (HTM) professional. The position requires a foundational understanding of the responsibilities and tasks, with a need for guidance on more complex assignments. This is an entry-level opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance or safety evaluations on equipment that requires a general inspection with minimal patient risk.
  • Perform repairs on low-risk, single-component, multiunit medical devices, which are generally considered safe for patient care, with backup equipment available if necessary.
  • Undergo training on specific equipment to fulfill service responsibilities effectively.
  • Carry out incoming inspections, maintain records, and establish preventive maintenance schedules for new equipment, focusing on routine tasks with low patient risk.
  • Manage a parts inventory by ordering replacement components as needed for repairs or maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with basic electronics training from a junior college, military, or trade school. Factory training may be considered as a substitute. Graduation from a BMET program that includes medical equipment training, medical terminology, and some hospital internship experience is preferred. No prior experience is necessary, as on-the-job training will be provided.
  • AAMI ICC Certification is preferred.

Starting Pay

Our compensation is competitive within the market. The pay for this position starts at $23.85 per hour, with the final offer determined by the candidate's education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position requires onsite work at one of our facilities, and remote work is not an option.
