Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct electrical safety inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to identify equipment needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide training and support to healthcare staff on the use and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license (for field service positions requiring travel).
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.
