Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at Compass Group USA. As a key member of our healthcare technology support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of medical devices and equipment in our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Manage and schedule service for assigned equipment, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Develop and maintain PM procedures for equipment, keeping detailed records and manuals.
  • Verify test equipment is functioning properly and calibrated within established intervals.
  • Respond promptly to clinical department calls to evaluate and resolve valid operator complaints and concerns.
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within budget parameters.
  • Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices for payment.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as requested.
  • Make recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies on equipment.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement/Risk Management program by understanding customer issues and concerns, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide emergency on-call support as needed.
  • Document significant asset-related actions in compliance with department practices.
  • Participate in department meetings and collaborate with fellow technical personnel to stay informed about technical updates and device-related problems.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license for field service positions requiring travel.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team.
